DESCRIPTION:Technology continues to reshape every aspect of our personal and professional lives. This ethics course is designed for new and seasoned legal professionals – attorneys\, paralegals and staff members alike – to review and reinforce common ethical duties related to the use of technology. The course zeroes in on the most common ethical issues that arise daily across all legal roles and best practices for using social media and the open web\, conducting legal and factual research\, and adopting emerging AI technology solutions. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES\n• Identify what technology competence means for your daily work\,\nincluding the applicable model rules.\n• Review basic guidelines for using social media in and out of the law\ndepartment.\n• Understand the dangers of conducting research on the open web.\n• Identify potential problems when failing to conduct proper legal\nresearch.\n• Explore the risks and benefits of using emerging technologies\nwhich offer legal analytics or utilize artificial intelligence.\n• Examine best practices for communicating with clients and\npreserving confidentiality when using technology solutions for legal\nprojects. \n  \nThis is an hour long CLE entitled Ethics for Legal Professionals when Using Technology. DESCRIPTION:  \n \nThe mystery of cryptocurrency requires a specialized level of understanding as it is a complex and emerging topic. Cryptocurrency is becoming a new language\, in an array of fields such as banking\, investment\, and the law. The vast amount of information available about cryptocurrency across many different platforms has grown exceptionally since the birth of the first cryptocurrency in 2009. This technology and the various ways to access the information impact how attorneys practice and uphold the law. Cryptocurrency also brings forth more issues and new laws that your clients may face. This course will get you up to speed on the latest cryptocurrency concerns as well as teach you how to find current resources and regulations to increase your knowledge. The goal of this course is to support attorneys in understanding what cryptocurrency is\, what are the statutes and legislation that currently govern cryptocurrency\, and the various in-depth resources regarding cryptocurrency that research platforms provide to attorneys and support staff. \n  \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES\n• Understand the history of cryptocurrency as well as\ncommon vocabulary associated with cryptocurrency;\n• Discovery methods for conducting research with\ndifferent full cryptocurrency citations and sample news\nsearches;\n• Establish the multiple ways to filter your searches before\nand after searching for specific terms;\n• Gain an understanding of how online platforms have\nbeen enhanced to predict what you’re looking for;\n• Ascertain the multiple resources available on search\nplatforms to learn about cryptocurrency regulation and\ncurrent Department of Justice litigation involving\ncryptocurrency; and\n• Organize and save items found conducting online legal\nresearch. \n  \nThis is an hour long CLE entitled Cryptocurrency overview: Concerns\, Regulations & Resources.
